New retrofit for Iberdrola’s Castejon Combined Cycle Main Steam Isolation Valve. Babcock Valves changes the old flexible wedge C12A valve design for a more reliable Parallel Slide one. The valves installed in P91/P92 lines with temperatures above 600⁰C and multiple daily operations require a free expansion design valve. Babcock Parallel Slide design not only allows the free expansion of the spindle without generating stresses or overstresses in the remaining valve elements, but also prevents the valve from getting stuck in closed position due to thermal transients or excessive torque.
