Currently, we are manufacturing seismic-qualified variants of Bellows seal valves designed in accordance with ASME Section III for a Nuclear Power Plant. Before providing a glimpse into our workshop, please find below a concise introduction to these specialized valves.
Bellows seal valves incorporate a bellows assembly welded to the bonnet and stem. During valve operation, the bellows expand or compress, mitigating the risk of leakage to the atmosphere common in conventional valves. This design is particularly suitable for applications in toxic or flammable piping systems in chemical plants and various safety areas within nuclear plants. At Babcock Valves, we employ a high-strength multi-ply bellows engineered to withstand high pressures and temperatures, thereby enhancing fatigue strength.
While the bellows is typically supplied in SS321 material, alternatives such as Inconel are also available upon request. Our bellows seal valves guarantee a minimum of 10,000 failure-free cycles, ensuring zero leakage through the bottom of the bonnet and packing rings, thereby achieving an extended service life. We manufacture gate and globe bellows seal valves in sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 24″ and ASME Class 150 to 2500.
